a year of light, week nine

... as one closes, another opens

As we circle back from another challenging week, but first hang on - how is it Thursday already? I really need to stop blinking, this year is a whirling wind at the moment.

How did you find ‘FRONTAL LIGHT’? I had a few messages from participants saying that it was difficult one to capture. It can be a very unforgiving kind of light. It’s straight up, the source directly behind you. If the source is small and low your shadow will appear in the frame. Vivian Maier often created with this kind of light enabling her to be ‘present’ with her shadow creating a darkness over the subject. If the source is large, like the sun when it’s higher up in the sky it will illuminate the subject from behind you hence appearing like ‘you are the light.’

A Love Affair is in its purest form is about curiosity and discovery, it is about passion for someone or something and often makes very little sense in the most rational mind. It’s why I don’t pertain this journey to be rational, right, wrong, technical. In the most beautiful way it is a path of seeking and unique understanding.
