Photographers- have you ever thought of yourself as a decision maker?
Have you ever wondered why you’re absolutely shattered after a shoot?
And why it’s so easy to burn out?
Being a photographer is primarily decision making. It’s also multitasking, it’s why women are so good at it.
Many decisions become instinctive and intuitive over time. Some are made before the shoot, many during and a lot after. And all by us… unless ofcourse we’re shooting with a creative and logistics team. Which is in fact WHY some shoots need such a big team because there ARE so many decisions to be made.
Investing in gear and then fine tuning the settings to suit us is a big part of that decision making. I work with Nikon, have done since the beginning but for everyone it’s different.
It’s also what makes what we do extremely valuable, not many can make decisions as fast as an F1 driver (well except the 20 on the grid!). We can. And we do.
If you need help seeking the answers in your own work, if the decisions you are making aren’t clear to you, I’m here to help. ‘Listen to your echo’ are an alchemy of portfolio review and 1:1 mentoring. And they are absolutely gold.
Make a great decision today and book one.
Know your worth, it’s not just in what gear you use or the prettiness of your environment, it’s within every single decision you make along the way.
Reflecting light always,
