What was it that happened next? Part I
We relocated country, in my excitement and open heart I let the world in
It was 2013 when we moved to Dubai. This followed my 2010-11 Masters in Paris and two busy years in Malaysia where I gave birth to my first.
Those two years in Kuala Lumpur had been spent connecting to a new country and multi-culture in South East Asia. I had managed to embrace a life in humidity, curry leaves and cooling off in the pool. I navigated first time Motherhood in a wildly foreign environment, made dozens of beautiful friends and built a photography business from the ground up.
I had created memories for dozens of families; capturing births, weddings, maternity, newborns, Grandparents, holidays, couples and more. I’d worked for a handful of commercial clients, begun teaching beginner level photography, opened my heart up to the possibility of writing a book and then the pinnacle moment - I was asked to trial three Panasonic Lumix cameras. It was my job to test drive the cameras, capture and present my creations and experience to the Malaysian Press on their launch.
I felt alive and engaged.
My career was humming and then we moved.
